Understanding Hormones

Hormones Influence More Than You May Realize

Hormones interact with many aspects of your health and well-being. They can influence how you feel day to day, how your body responds to stress, how you sleep, and how you experience energy, mood, and overall vitality.

Patients often want to discuss areas such as energy, sleep, mood, body composition, sexual wellness, menstrual changes, menopause or perimenopause, strength, recovery, and their general sense of well-being. These are all valid topics to bring to a consultation.

It is important to understand that these concerns can have many possible causes. Symptoms alone do not establish a hormonal diagnosis. A thorough evaluation — including conversation, health history, and appropriate laboratory testing when indicated — helps determine whether hormone-related factors may be contributing to what you are experiencing.

For Women

Hormone Optimization for Women

Women may seek hormone evaluation for many reasons, including perimenopause, menopause, changes in menstrual patterns, sleep changes, energy, body composition, sexual wellness, and overall quality-of-life concerns.

Evaluation is individualized and may involve discussing your medical history, reviewing your symptoms, ordering appropriate laboratory testing, and exploring treatment options when clinically appropriate. Hormone therapy is not appropriate for everyone, and the decision to pursue it is made through careful conversation with your provider.

For Men

Hormone Optimization for Men

Men may seek evaluation for energy changes, changes in strength, body composition, sexual wellness, sleep, general well-being, and concerns about testosterone.

It is important to understand that symptoms require appropriate evaluation and do not automatically indicate testosterone deficiency or any other hormonal condition. A consultation, health history review, and appropriate laboratory testing help your provider determine whether hormone-related factors may be contributing to what you are experiencing.

Your personalized plan depends on your individual evaluation. Treatment is only recommended when clinically appropriate.

Candidacy

Is Hormone Optimization Right for Me?

You may consider a consultation if you have persistent concerns about energy, sleep, sexual wellness, body composition, menstrual or menopausal changes, or other symptoms you would like professionally evaluated.

These symptoms are not specific to hormonal conditions and can have many causes. A consultation and appropriate evaluation are necessary before determining whether hormone-related treatment is appropriate.
